What makes a man a “real man”?

There’s a great deal of discussion today about the nature of manhood and masculinity. Cultural debates can become heated, and reactionary positions extreme. Many see masculinity as hopelessly “toxic”, and therefore in need of elimination. Others see such views as perpetrating a “war on men”, and respond by doubling down on historic “real man” stereotypes. Amidst all the noise and confusion, how are both Christian men and women to think about what makes a man a “real man”?
