Sin and Atonement: What Did Jesus Say?
What is sin? Is it just a way of describing the bad things we do? Things that God tells us not to? Or is it deeper than that? The Bible clearly teaches that Jesus died for sinners. (Romans 5:8) But what does sin even mean? And do we need to understand sin to receive and declare the “good news” of Jesus?
In this episode, Scott and Shawn look for answers by digging into the Bible to discover what Jesus had to say about sin. They look at how Jesus defines sin, what Jesus saw as our greatest need created by our sin, and how he understood himself and his mission in relationship to our sin.
In many progressive Christian circles, people want to stop talking about sin, and only focus on the “good news” of Jesus. Tune in to this episode and discover how a deeper understanding and knowledge of your sin will actually increase your amazement, joy, and thankfulness for Jesus!
